Another EDM wave form post
Well, at work we have a pair of semi-manual Ram EDM machines. The old CHMER seems to cut very poorly, so I wanted to see what the difference was. Here are a few images from the oscilloscope.
- A wider view of the older CHMER EDM wave form. You can see it is much like the previous wave form of the newer CHMER EDM
- Standard CHMER EDM cutting. This is the old beast thats like almost 20 years old.
- A fine graph of the Creator EDM wave form. Off time seems to be defined a little differently than the CHMER
- The Creator EDM with the Zapper function turned on. It looks at though it supplies a high voltage spike for cutting carbide or harder materials.
- The Creaotr EDM at 50V without the zapper function on. I can assume that since the power appears clear that something is very different.
- The Creator EDM while cutting a standard cut. 10A, 200us on and 100us off. You can see the power is much cleaner than the CHMER and the method of cutting seems to be different.
